Gene

Gene "Willie G." Weatherford

Well, ok then, I vaguely remember being born on a Sunday in Central Lower Carolina; my Daddy ran a grocery/department store fire salvage business. I got to ride around the country with him in an 18 wheeler [occasionally we would fly] Big Willie did the driv'in, he could have done the fly'in too, but we took Delta. I was only six; however I did learn the shifting pattern for a Mack road tractor which came in mighty handy later in life. Back then Delta didn't have jets. Big Willie, having been a pilot in WW II, knew all about the big prop-jobs, and would give me an expert account of what the pilot was doing, wrong and right. We visited places that had just had floods, tornados, fires, or other disasters. You may think "that's no way for a kid to grow up" Quite the contrary, I got a good look at life and reality which scared the Hell out of me and subsequently pushed me inward to become the neurotic I am today.

I recall the joy of roaming through old smelly wooden warehouses filled with clothing, hardware, canned goods, car parts, and yes RECORDS. I don't mean a few records, I mean crates of LPs, 78's and 45's stacked to the roof. Since they were salvage I was allowed to take them home, listen to them and take them back. Of course the ones I liked, I kept. Big Willie would pay the pennies on the dollar for me. I had original blues, jazz, Sinatra, Rogers and Hammerstien, Spike Jones, Red Foxx, you name it. Elmore James, Charlie Parker, Pal Joey, South Pacific. Spike Jones did a version of "That 'ol Black Magic" with the sound effects that made him famous. I memorized Red Foxx skits that I didn't fully understand until years later!!

Big Willie moved us to the coast when I was eleven. My Mama, Anabelle, who was born in Shanghi and met Big Willie at a cocktail reception for officers sponsored by the Texas Oil Company during WWII, really wanted me to learn the accordion like that nice boy Lawrence Welk. I picked one up, it just didn't feel right. I did learn to cook and enjoy Chinese food though! I drink tea with cream and sugar, and I do like accordion music. We moved to Savannah which to this day is the most intoxicatingly beautiful place I have ever seen. River Street, Moon River, Bonaventure, blues bands, rock bands, strip joints, live oaks, Spanish moss; never mind the blank expression, if you really want to know what's on my mind, "It's Just a Sweet 'ol Song"

Willie G.
Doc

Glenn 'Doc' Lundquist

Doc is an Atlanta music scene veteran, recognized as one of the premier blues pianists in the region. Doc's versatile style can range from the elegance of Ellington to the hard rock and blues of Chuck Leavell. Doc always "catches the groove" and brings it home for audiences as well as the band.
Jack

Jack Kaplan

Jack Kaplan first started pickin' on a six string guitar but quickly mastered the Bass and has been boomin' the Bass tracks for over 30 years. Jack grew up and played in the Kansas City circuit, where he played in a band with his two brothers. Atlanta's music scene happily welcomed Jack over fifteen years ago.

Jack was part of local R&B group, "Time Machine," for nine years. He also played in various other local bands including "The Ballistics," "Parnasus," and played bass guitar in "The Rock Bottom Blues Band," noted for recently opening (warmed up the crowd) for "Cheap Trick," "Little Feat," "Foghat," "Georgia Satellites," Leslie West and Mountain. He also currently plays with "The BackTraX Band," a hot, local, Rock & Roll cover group.

Jack can always be found with the "Big Biscuit Band" at various venues on the blues circuit. With over 15 bass guitars in his collection, you never know what "axe" he will be playing.
Ed

Ed Nunziante

Ed, native New Yorker, damn Yankee from Brooklyn came to Atlanta in 1990. Ed played on the music scene in N,Y, and the tri-state area for 25 years before moving here, He also played in a touring show band and worked on many studio projects, in addition to running a successful party business. Ed's musical talents enable him to play various instruments and a wide range of styles, from big band to Latin , R&B and all types Rock & Roll or Blues. You should hear him rip with the harmonica, the Alto Saxophone and the fantastic flute.. As well as a great singer he is a superb conga and percusssionist... Come out and see the newest member of The Big Biscuit Band.
George

George Vogle

George has been playing drums since the age of 10. He currently also plays in the band "Cheers" (...and has since '94). Coax George to sing the "perfect" country and western song! George has been active in the Atlanta music scene since moving here from Chicago in '79. He played in a Horn and Show band - "Heatwave" - while attending the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) in the Mid '70s. George has played throughout the Southeast. He likes listening/playing to all types of music!
